These bumps

Rupture on smooth skin

Pride, swallowed.

Youth, fades.

Hope, flicker dimly.

Like ancient star

Refusing the tide.

Standing in vacuum

Have I shunned all?

Aye these demons they scheme.

Like cancer spreading filth

Corruption and decay along the way.

The blood, poisoned.

The flesh, poisoned.

The mind...

The mind stands.

As the gentle heart hangs on by a thread.
