Untainted Soul - a poem

Oh you untainted soul, Ancient as time so old, Still as the unmoving sky.

Have you looked in the mirror, Oh you untainted soul, Have you known you, Behind the stories you were told?

Do you hear the whispers that came in the nights? Question that lingered during the day, Well into your twilight, Question that would not leave you be, Question that would not rest.

Did you search for the answer within the crevices of your broken hopes, Or among the pieces of your splintered years, Spread across this stage of twisted troupe, This circus of deranged clowns.

So invested have you been with this lunacy of masked men in glittering costumes and blinding lights, Each with his own tragedy and comedy and accompanying orchestral piece, Masked and costumed adorned by faceless, nameless, ageless souls... untainted.

Ancient as time so old, Still as the unmoving sky.
